My Unusual Journey to Becoming a Registered Dietitian

Healthy snacking is a key part of a healthy diet. Ensuring you have healthy snacks prepared can help you maintain your energy level throughout the day, and keep your blood sugar stable – a key part of weight management.

Protein balls are a great snack idea to take on-the-go. Packing 2 for a morning, afternoon or evening snack can be your saving grace when you’re craving that chocolate brownie staring you down at your daily coffee run to Starbucks.

For me, one of the many Canadians with an anaphylactic nut allergy, the common healthy snack options like almonds or protein/energy bars are a no-go – and I’m not alone. For those working in nut-free environments, those with children with life-threatening nut allergies, or just anyone looking for a new snack idea – check these delicious treats out!

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup flaxseed meal
